Could Dry Body Brushing be the lazy girl’s way to eliminate toxins, reduce cellulite and smooth skin in one simple sweep?

Before stepping into the shower, whip out your natural bristle body brush and work it in long circular sweeping motions up your body. The key is to start at your feet, and work up your body towards your chest and shoulders. It’s also recommended your work from left to the right side of your body.

Step 1: Start at the soles of your feet. Stroke the brush in sweeping movements from your toes to the heel. Repeat the process several times. Move to the top of the foot and again begin at the toes and sweep the brush to the ankle.
Step 2: Continue to brush up the leg, from the ankle to the calf and shin, up to hamstring and quadriceps.
Step 3: After the legs start moving the brush over the top of the buttocks and hips. Always sweeping towards the heart. You can spend a bit more time here as this is where the cellulite tends to accumulate 🙂
Step 4: Once you hit the lower back, glide your brush from the spine out to the torso, all the way up to the shoulder blades. Repeat on the other side.
Step 5: Almost there. Abdominal area, always brush upwards but for this area you also start at the navel and brush in in small circular clockwise strokes, not leaving the skin. Now gradually increase the circular stokes until you reach the outer abdomen.
Step 6: For your arms start at the palm of your hand, stroking towards your heart then the top of your hand and continue up the arm. Finish by stroking over the armpit with light strokes.
Step 7: The final zone is the decolletage. When brushing this area use lighter strokes as it’s very sensitive.

So you want to get rid of cellulite fast? Who doesn’t!  The very best tried and tested method is not easy,     but not so hard either.  An easy 3 step plan is

  1. Incorporate loads of strength training with cardio.  The cardio will help with overall fat loss, and the strength training will help with the tone and texture of the skin.  Skin, even with cellulite, always looks best over muscle rather than fat. If you hate the gym and traditional weight training, find a steep hill or loads of stairs to run up.
  2. Diet.  Don’t cut out the good fats like flax seed oil, avocado, nuts, fish etc..   Those fats are actually complimentary to weight loss (that’s not saying that they have no calories though!). Don’t touch saturated fats and processed foods.
  3. Skin brushing, exfoliating, keeping the skin moisturized and treated with a great self tan is probably the easiest and quickest method of these three to get rid of cellulite fast, or at least make less visible to others.

This is my own recipe for the best cellulite fighting protein shake, it has been tried and tested and I think it’s now pretty perfect.
It packs a three punch because you can use it as a meal replacement for breakfast and lunch and by substituting just two meals a day and then having a normal dinner you are pretty much guaranteed to lose weight, which is the most important thing you can do to get rid of cellulite, combined of course with specific exercises to target the problem areas.
It’s full of antioxidants from the berries which together with the flax seed oil will help support the skin giving it a firm appearance.

  7. Add one cup of water, you can add more or less depending on how thick you want your shake to be. In summer you can add ice cubes to make it thicker and colder…..a real treat.
  8. Blend it all together and pour it in a really nice glass,a cocktail glass would do the trick

This cellulite cream recipe is similar to the caffeine wrap we posted about previously, however it is just a slight variation that makes it a cream rather than a wrap.  Many expensive creams have caffeine in them as caffeine is widely known to temporarily and superficially make the appearance of cellulite diminish.

You’ll need:

  • One cup instant coffee
  • 2 cups sorbolene cream or other generic bland body cream.
  • Small amount of hot water

What to do:

  1. Place coffee with a touch of hot water (enough to slightly dissolve the coffee) in blender
  2. Blend on medium speed until mixture is mixed evenly.
  3. Pour cellulite cream into jar with lid.
  4. Smooth cellulite cream on legs and other problem cellulite areas on your body. Gently massaging the problem areas.

You need:

  • 1/4 cup warm, used coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
